Woodhall Spa Short Mat Bowls Club

If you are looking for a friendly new pastime that combines skill, sociability and gentle exercise,
Woodhall Spa Short Bowls Club could be just the place to start. Established in September 2008,
the club has grown into a welcoming part of village life, offering a relaxed atmosphere where both
beginners and experienced players can enjoy the game.

The club was founded by Dennis Crabtree, with support from Norman Wigglesworth and
Coronation Hall trustees, Daphne and Gerald Robinson. Thanks to their efforts, what began as
an idea has flourished into a successful local club with forty-nine members and a reputation for
being warm, inclusive and community minded.

With three mats in play, up to eighteen people can take part at one time, making each session
lively and sociable.

Games are held on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays and Sunday afternoons from 2.00pm to 4.00pm, with the season running from September to April.
Members also enjoy the chance to take part in League matches against other clubs in the region. Woodhall Spa Short Mat Bowls Club is affiliated to the English Short Mat Bowls Association for added support, guidance and opportunities.

During the season, potential new member are invited to turn up on any Sunday at 2pm and can have 3 free taster sessions.
No equipment is needed; just wear flat-soled shows and come along ready to have a try.
